The Coat Room – Picks of the Perfect Winter Wear

Summer is well and truly over. We’ve already felt the weather turn and it’s not long until the clocks go back and we are plunged into the horribleness of cold early mornings and dark afternoons. But winter can be a much more pleasurable experience if you equip yourself with the right outwear. A decent coat is essential for those crisp cold afternoons on the terraces, that morning dog walk or a winter weekend city break with the missus.

So I’ve taken a look at the new arrivals in winter wear at Giancarlo Ricci and picked out my favourites for fending off the freeze….

Stone Island - Garment dyed Light Down Coat Ink - £435.00

I find it hard to not start with Stone Island when I’m looking for a decent winter coat or jacket. Famed for their use of innovative and hardwearing quality material inspired by military and technical wear Stone Island are one of the leading designers when it comes to outwear. This garment dyed down coat is lightweight and therefore not too bulky but being down filled will keep you nice and toasty. Perfect for the terraces.

Emporio Armani - Fur Ruff Dual Fabric Parka - £400.00

A parka is a classic coat and should be an absolute mainstay of any man’s wardrobe. I particularly like this Emporio Armani dual fabric black Parka, with fur ruff on the hood. Incredibly warm it will also keep off that freezing sleet or miserable morning drizzle. Another great coat for the terraces and one that will keep you more than warm enough on a long weekend wondering round some far flung freezing eastern European city.

Cruyff Classics - Krol 2 Quilted Hooded Jacket - £125.00

For another more lightweight choice I like the look of this Cruyff Classics quilted hooded jacket. A lovely classic black with red trim it’s got a great casual sporting look but combined with the lightweight warmth of the padding. Perfect for that brisk morning walk of the dog or just for nipping into town and down the pub in.

Hugo Boss Green - Jelsma Snow Coat - £580.00

Possibly my favourite pick of the lot, the Huge Boss Green Jelsma Snow Coat is the perfect heavy winter coat. It’s waterproof and incredibly well insulated and warm, as you’d expect from a snow coat I suppose!

Versace Collection - Pocket Down Parka - £778.00

Another great parka choice, this Versace Collection pocket down parka is a great option for your winter coat. In classic black it has some subtle but beautiful leather detail on the front pocket button downs. Warm, waterproof and as suitable on the terraces as it would be for work, you can’t go far wrong with this coat.

Canada Goose - Hybridge Fill Quilted Hoody - £500.00

Canada Goose parkas were a favourite in Liverpool last year and they’ll probably be a popular choice again this season, but I’ve picked out something in a bit different in this stylish Canada Goose down filled soft shell quilted hoody. It retains the signature bright colouring with logo on the upper left arm.  It possesses exclusive Canada Goose thermal mapping technology, meaning that the insulation is exactly where your body most needs it. In addition the hood is high necked with a tricot lined collar for added warmth and wind protection. For an all-round brilliant winter jacket, perfect for the terraces and sure to turn a future heads look no further.
